Order Form

What information is available?

The law providing for registration of births in Texas went into effect in 1903 and became mandatory in 1921.  The law was not fully complied with until as late as the 1930s or 1940s.  consequently, a large number of births were not recorded at all, even after registration was mandatory.

The information that is available on the birth record indexes includes  the following:

From 1926 - 1949

Birth Index Records (1926-1949)

Person's last name, first name, middle name, suffix, mother's first, middle and last name, father's first, middle and last name, suffix, month, day, and year of birth, sex and county of birth.

This is not the actual certificate or license, only an index that points to the actual certificate or license at the Texas Department of Health or County court house.

Please allow 5 - 10 days for the research to be perform.
